The Last of Us Part 2's PC port has been ready for months, leaker claims
Sony

A reliable leaker has claimed that the PC port of Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part 2 PC port has been ready since late 2023. It's believed that the decision not to announce it is most likely related to the HBO TV series.

The details:

  • According to Dealabs' Billbil-kun, the port has been fully completed since at least November 2023, with development beginning in 2021. The leaker believes Sony has avoided announcing the game for the time being, instead planning to release it around the same time as season two of HBO's The Last of Us, which is set to premiere in 2025.

  • It also appears that the port will be of the game's Remastered version, which was released for PS5 in January and included technical and visual improvements, playable "Lost Levels" missions, and the No Return roguelike survival mode.

  • A remake of the series' first game, The Last of Us Part 1, was released on PS5 in September 2022, followed by a PC port in March of the following year. Between the two versions' releases, HBO aired the first season of the show, which received universal acclaim and resulted in a spike in game sales.
