A dev build of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been leaked online
A pre-release build of Saber Interactive's Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has leaked online, and the game appears to be fully playable from beginning to end.
The details:
According to Reddit, the game's build was uploaded to a torrent site by an anonymous source in June. The build also includes server binaries that enable LAN multiplayer, and it appears to be entirely playable, albeit with some placeholder assets throughout.
Saber has begun removing gameplay of the build from YouTube, but more videos have surfaced, including a small clip showing the inside of a Battle Barge warship and a pre-mission cutscene, though a placeholder image can be clearly seen at one point.
According to one of the uploaders of a now-removed video (via u/TheOnlyChemo), the game was running on an RTX 3060 mobile chipset at 1080p with 90% resolution scaling on high and still managed to maintain a consistent 30 FPS. This suggests that Space Marine 2 is likely to be well optimized in comparison to many recent releases, with more improvements likely being made in the lead up to its full launch.
Originally scheduled to launch in late 2023, Space Marine 2 was pushed back to September 9, 2024, with Saber canceling its planned beta in June to focus on preparing the game for full release.
