Phil Spencer has reportedly told employees that Microsoft will continue to make Xbox consoles
Ahead of this week's Microsoft Gaming update on its future strategy, CEO Phil Spencer is said to have reassured employees that the company will continue to manufacture Xbox consoles even if its titles go multi-platform.

Rumors of Xbox exclusives potentially releasing on PlayStation and Nintendo have been circulating for a few weeks, prompting Microsoft to announce a "business update" for this week. This has raised concerns about the future of Xbox consoles and whether Microsoft will instead focus on Game Pass and streaming.
While Microsoft has not yet publicly commented on the situation, journalist Shannon Liao has reported that Spencer has informed employees that the company has no plans to stop producing new Xbox consoles and that its new strategy "involves multiple kinds of devices."
It was previously reported that Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush would be among the first Xbox exclusives to cross platforms, with a recent Hi-Fi Rush data mine revealing textures that appear to confirm the multi-platform release. Other titles rumored for PS5 release include Starfield, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and even Gears of War.
