Phil Spencer states “so much has changed” since Xbox’s leaked documents

Xbox head Phil Spencer has responded to the recent leak of a number of unredacted documents from Microsoft's battle with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), claiming that they are out of date and that Xbox will share its plans when "it is ready."

The details:

• The executive addressed the massive leak via his personal X account, claiming that "so much has changed" since the documents were created, implying that many of the planned projects have been scrapped or altered and that the company's interests have shifted since 2020. "We’ve seen the conversation around old emails and documents," Spencer said. "It is hard to see our team’s work shared in this way because so much has changed and there’s so much to be excited about right now, and in the future. We will share the real plans when we are ready."
• The documents revealed an Xbox Series X revision, a new controller, Bethesda's in-development projects such as Fallout 3 and Oblivion remasters, and even emails between Spencer and a Nintendo executive discussing a possible acquisition of the Japanese gaming giant.
• Spencer also addressed the leak in an email to Microsoft employees (via The Verge), stating that the documents were "unintentionally disclosed" and that, despite the fact that the company's plans had "evolved" since their creation, it was still "disappointing" to see.
• Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley also confirmed that Microsoft was responsible for the leak after accidentally uploading unredacted versions of its documents to the site set up for the legal battle. The files have since been removed, and Microsoft has been given until September 22 to resubmit them.
