Konami has unveiled the new multiplayer mode coming to Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Fox Hunt.

The details:

  • As revealed during Konami's Press Start showcase, the new mode is not a remake of Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component of MGS3 Subsistence, but instead a “completely original” experience. "We very much appreciate all the longtime fans of MGO, who have always wanted to see it make a comeback. But the landscape of multiplayer games has changed a lot since MGO,” said longtime MGS series designer Yu Sahara.

  • According to the developer, Fox Hunt is "based on the iconic stealth and survival elements” of the series, with a focus on staying hidden and tracking down your opponents to create a “unique” experience. “We’re taking camouflage and hide-and-seek to the next level,” Sahara said. “We challenged ourselves to make something unique, that’s more than just another shootout.”

  • MGS Delta, a full remake of 2004's MGS3, will be released on August 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The title will notably include the ability to switch between the original camera mode and an MGS V-style over-the-shoulder camera designed to make gameplay easier for newcomers.
