Konami has announced that “Fox Hunt,” the multiplayer component of its remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, will be arriving this Fall following the game’s launch later this month.

The details:

  • As announced during Konami’s Press Start Showcase in June, Fox Hunt serves as a replacement for MGS3 Subsistence’s original Metal Gear Online multiplayer and is an entirely new mode for the series. During the showcase, Konami confirmed that it would not be launching alongside MGS Delta on August 28 but has now revealed that it is coming in Fall 2025.
  • The mode’s development is being led by longtime MGS series designer Yu Sahara, who described it as a “completely original” and “unique” experience. During the reveal, Sahara shared that Fox Hunt features gameplay “based on the iconic stealth and survival elements” that takes “camouflage and hide-and-seek to the next level.”
  • MGS Delta is a full remake of 2004’s MGS3, which has become a favorite among fans of the franchise. It features a number of new inclusions, such as the ability to play from an over-the-shoulder perspective similar to that of MGSV. While some fans are hyped about the game, others aren’t too interested due to Konami’s past treatment of original director Hideo Kojima, who has stated that he will not be playing the remake.
