Amazon’s Fallout has been renewed for a second season before its first episode has been released

Amazon's Fallout TV series has been renewed for another season due to a tax incentive, even though the first episode has yet to be released.

The details:

  • According to Variety, the California Film Commission has given out $152 million in tax incentives to various TV shows, with Fallout topping the list. The second season will be filmed in California, with $25 million in California tax credits.

  • The first season, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 10, was filmed primarily in New York, with additional footage shot in Utah. Select streamers will also broadcast the first episode on Amazon's livestreaming platform Twitch, making it available to all viewers regardless of Prime membership.

  • It has been confirmed that the TV series' plot is original, but it is similar enough to the game series that Bethesda's Todd Howard had to inform its writers about its plans for Fallout 5 in order to avoid certain story elements. The show, which takes place years after the events of Fallout 4 in 2296, follows a vault dweller named Lucy through the wastelands of postwar California.
