Ubisoft's Skull & Bones confirmed for February 2024
After years of delays, Ubisoft has finally announced a new release date for the long-awaited pirate title from its Singapore studio.
The details:
During The Game Awards, the publisher confirmed with a new trailer that a recent leak of a February 16, 2024 release date was correct. It will also receive a closed beta from December 15 to 18, and those who pre-order or subscribe to Ubisoft+ will receive three days early access to the full game.
A deep dive trailer reveals that the game will allow players to explore the Indian Ocean in co-op with up to three other people, build and customize ships, engage in naval warfare with rival crews, and investigate areas of interest to find quests and mysteries on land. Optional PvP will also be included, allowing players to collect rare loot at the risk of being taken down.
Skull and Bones began development in 2014 as an Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag DLC, with Ubisoft Singapore receiving financial assistance from the Singaporean government to complete the title. The game was delayed multiple times after being rebooted in 2020, most recently in October 2023, after missing its targeted 2018 release date.
