Monster Hunter Wilds, Capcom's next Monster Hunter title, will be released in 2025 on all major platforms.

The details:

  • The publisher revealed the title with a short trailer at The Game Awards, and the game is coming to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. In an accompanying video, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto stated that it would feature a "new level of detailed creatures and ecosystems," but that no further details would be revealed until next summer.

  • The trailer gives us our first look at one of the game's locations, a desert affected by sandstorms and lightning strikes and populated by various creatures in larger groups than ever seen in a Monster Hunter game. The player character can also be seen riding on a bird-like mount, which is a new addition to the franchise.

  • Rumors about the next Monster Hunter game have been circulating for quite some time, with some believing Capcom's "major title" set to release before March 2024 would be a return to the franchise, only to be revealed to be Dragon's Dogma 2. Another rumor that surfaced this year was that the game would be coming to the next Nintendo console, and with the system expected to launch in the second half of 2024, this could be announced during the summer of 2024 when more game details are revealed.
