Nintendo has announced that it will attend Gamescom 2025, after missing out on last year's event.

The details:

  • Posting to the company’s German X account, Nintendo confirmed that it will be making an appearance at the annual trade fair, which will be held from August 20 to August 24. “Mark your calendar in red: Nintendo will be back at Gamescom in 2025,” it wrote. “We look forward to welcoming you to Cologne from August 20th to 24th!”

  • Nintendo has yet to confirm what it will show off at the event, but given that the Switch 2 is set to launch two months prior on June 5, it is likely to offer demo units of its biggest releases, such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza. The company also has more releases planned for the rest of the year, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which could also be playable at the show.

  • Nintendo's last appearance at Gamescom was in 2023, when the Switch 2 was reportedly shown off behind closed doors, providing us with the first accurate details about its performance and features. However, it skipped last year's show without explanation, but it was assumed to be due to the company's focus on the Switch 2.
