Planet Coaster and Planet Zoo studio Frontier Developments has announced a collaboration with Disney to develop a new game drawing on Disney's IP portfolio. The game will be fully funded by Frontier and built around the Creative Management Simulation genre the studio has spent a decade establishing.

The details:

  • Frontier CEO Jo Cooke described the project as a natural extension of the studio's strategy: "We are delighted to announce this collaboration with Disney, which further reinforces our clearly defined strategy of developing and nurturing world-class creative management simulation game franchises." No title, release window, or specific Disney IP has been revealed yet.
  • Frontier's track record in the genre includes Planet Coaster, Planet Zoo, and Jurassic World Evolution. A Disney-themed management sim would be a logical fit, potentially spanning theme parks, zoos, or other entertainment-adjacent settings the company owns.
  • The announcement comes as the studio continues to look for a reliable hit after mixed commercial results in recent years following the departures of Elite Dangerous and F1 Manager content updates.
