Nintendo has announced that it will host an event, Nintendo Live, in September 2023. Although all of the information has yet to be released, the show is confirmed to feature tournaments, performances, and, of course, games.

In a press release, Nintendo announced that Nintendo Live would be making its debut in the West this September, being hosted at an unconfirmed location in Seattle, WA. "Fans of all ages can currently experience the unique games, characters, and worlds of Nintendo on the Nintendo Switch, but we want to expand that scope with a new experience," said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser in the statement. "With Nintendo Live 2023, we’re giving attendees a chance to celebrate together with family, friends, and the broader Nintendo community in the spirit of fun and creating long-lasting memories." Nintendo will release more details about the event, including a specific date and time and entry information, at a later date.
The first Nintendo Live event took place in Kyoto, Japan, in 2019, and it returned to Tokyo last October after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19. Fans can expect live musical performances by characters from its franchises, including K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing, who made an appearance at the 2022 show, as well as photo ops and tournaments in the company's hit Switch titles, such as Mario Kart. It's expected that a significant portion of the event will be related to Mario in some way, not only because the plumber is the gaming giant's mascot but also because of the massively successful release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood.
Nintendo reportedly felt like it didn't have "enough major releases ready to show that would justify significant event space," in regards to attending the now-canceled E3, and it appears that this is still the case, as there has been no mention of potential announcements during the show, so the company is likely to save anything worth noting for a Nintendo Direct at some point in the future. However, demos of upcoming games will be available at the show, so we may get some insight into titles that have already been officially revealed.

Nintendo of Europe has updated its policy on Joy-Con drift, allowing anyone in the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area (EEA) to receive free repairs if their controllers suffer from the issue, even if they are out of warranty.
