The PC release of Stellar Blade has been one of the biggest launches for a PlayStation game on Steam, surpassing 180,000 concurrent players on release day.

The details:

  • According to SteamDB, Stellar Blade has been a major hit on PC following its release on June 11. As of the time of writing, the game currently has 183,002 concurrent players, with the number continuing to rise. This makes it the most successful single player PlayStation launch on the platform, surpassing the likes of Horizon Zero Dawn, and both The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 Remastered.

  • In terms of peak concurrent player counts for all PlayStation Steam releases, the game is still trailing Helldivers 2, which peaked at 458,709 players around its launch last year.

  • Earlier this year, developer Shift Up stated that it expects sales of the PC release to surpass those of the original PS5 version, which launched back in April 2024. β€œIn the AAA game market, PC devices have a higher market share than consoles, so we expect the performance of the PC version to exceed that of the console version,” Shift Up said. β€œWe are particularly observing trends such as the significant expansion of the single-player action game market in the Asian gaming industry.”
