Redfall will receive an offline mode in its final update
It has been announced that Redfall’s long-awaited offline mode will be added to the game in a final update following the closure of Arkane Austin earlier this month.
The details:
Shortly after Microsoft unexpectedly shut down the game's developer in early May, it was revealed that Redfall's offline mode was originally scheduled to be released later that month, having been in development for some time. Despite being close to completion, Arkane Austin's closure left it unclear whether the mode would be implemented at all.
The mode's release has now been confirmed via the official Redfall X account, with the final update, Game Update 4, featuring "revamped Neighborhood and Nest systems, Single Player Pausing, Offline Mode, and more." The release date has yet to be revealed, but it will most likely arrive within the next month.
Redfall was released in May 2023 and received widespread criticism due to its always-online requirement, gameplay bugs, and other technical issues. However, Bethesda stated that it would collaborate with Arkane Austin to improve the game, comparing it to Fallout 76 and Elder Scrolls Online, with updates introducing new content and quality-of-life improvements.
