Our referees are a critical part of our product.

We are hiring a Referee Team Manager to lead and develop this team.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for managing, coaching, and scaling the referee team.

Your job is to ensure referees operate at a high level, follow processes, and deliver a consistent, professional experience.

You will directly impact match quality, operational efficiency, and player trust.

This is a leadership role.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Coaching

• Coach referees to improve performance and professionalism

• Ensure referees follow all operational procedures

• Monitor referee performance and provide feedback

• Maintain high quality standards across all matches

Hiring, Onboarding, and Training

• Interview and hire new referees

• Run onboarding and training processes

• Ensure new referees are fully prepared before going live

• Continuously improve training systems

Scheduling & Coverage

• Create weekly referee schedules

• Ensure proper coverage across all operating hours

• Manage coverage gaps, callouts, and changes

• Optimize staffing efficiency

Performance Management

• Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings

• Provide coaching and development feedback

• Address performance issues when necessary

• Maintain team accountability

Process Improvement

• Identify operational inefficiencies

• Improve referee workflows

• Help scale referee operations as the company grows

Referees ensure matches run correctly.

When referees perform well:

• Players trust the platform

• Matches run smoothly

• Fans have a great experience

When referees perform poorly:

• Players churn

• Trust declines

• The product suffers
