Payday 3 will arrive in September according to a recent leak

According to a reliable leaker, publisher Prime Matter is aiming for a September release date for the long-awaited sequel.

The details:

• Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios' follow-up to 2013's Payday 2 will be released on September 21, 2023, according to reliable leaker Aggiornamenti Lumia. The Twitter account that shared the information is known for sharing Microsoft Store listings before they are made public. The leak comes just a day before Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest, which will feature some massive reveals, possibly including the title's official release date announcement.
• The game was officially revealed in early 2023 with a short teaser trailer showcasing the game's new logo, though we have yet to see gameplay in any form, with only a small handful of concept art images available to the public. Given its predecessor's enormous success over the last decade, including reportedly selling over 40 million copies, engaging in multiple high-profile collaborations, and having the largest dedicated Steam community, it's more than likely that it sticks to the fast-paced heisting formula fans know and love.
• Payday 3 takes place several years after the events of the previous game in a "living, enormous representation" of New York City. Dallas, Hoxton, Chains, and Wolf, members of the now-retired Payday gang, are forced to return to a life of crime in a world filled with "software giants, cryptocurrencies, mass surveillance, and the Dark Web," all of which will play a role in the game's story and gameplay.
