Newzoo's 2026 Global Games Market Report includes Q1 2026 financial results for the industry's biggest public companies, and the picture is far from uniform — with some publishers surging while two of the biggest platform holders lost ground.

The details:

  • Tencent remains the world's largest game publisher by revenue, posting $10.8 billion in Q1 2026, up 11.9% year over year, driven by Delta Force, Honor of Kings, and VALORANT Mobile internationally.
  • Roblox generated $1.44 billion in Q1 2026, up 39.3% year over year — enough to rank it 10th among all public game companies globally by quarterly revenue.
  • Electronic Arts grew 11.9% year over year to $2.12 billion, climbing one spot to sixth in Newzoo's rankings.
  • Microsoft posted a 5.5% revenue decline, with Game Pass subscribers estimated at around 30 million — down from the 34 million the company last disclosed in February 2024, following an October 2025 price increase.
  • Sony's gaming revenue dipped 0.9% year over year, with PS5 shipments falling to 1.5 million units in Q1 2026, the lowest quarterly total in the console's history.
