Microsoft’s Xbox business update will be held on Thursday
Microsoft has announced that its upcoming "business update," detailing Xbox's future strategy, will be delivered in podcast form on Thursday, February 15.
The details:
Following last week's announcement by Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer that the company would hold a business strategy update for Xbox, the date has now been confirmed for Thursday. The podcast will air at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm GMT on Xbox's official YouTube channel and major podcast platforms, and will feature Spencer, president Sarah Bond, and president of game content and studios Matt Booty.
Xbox's multi-platform plans are expected to be revealed during the podcast. According to The Verge, the first two titles expected to come to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch are Hi-Fi Rush and Pentiment, with Sea of Thieves following later this year. Bethesda's Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are also being considered for PS5 releases.
The rumors of multi-platform releases led many to believe Microsoft was planning to exit the console business, but Spencer reportedly reassured employees that this was not the case and that multiple devices are involved in its new strategy.
