Fallout 76 welcomes over one million players in a single day, according to Bethesda
Bethesda recently announced that over one million players jumped into Fallout 76 in a single day following the success of the series' Amazon TV adaptation.
The details:
Bethesda shared the major milestone in a post on X, which, when combined with the player counts for the rest of the franchise's titles, totals more than five million. “Thank you to the over one million of you who adventured with us in #Fallout76 in a single day,” the studio wrote. “… and almost five million across all Fallout games in a single day!”
Fallout 76 was released in 2018 to negative reviews and widespread backlash from fans due to technical issues and a lack of human NPCs, with stories told through robots and holotapes. Despite the rocky start, a series of updates, including Wastelanders, fixed numerous issues and brought back NPCs, traditional quests, and new features.
Following the release of the universally acclaimed Fallout show this month, the series has seen a massive influx of players, with the peak concurrent player count for Fallout 4 exceeding 100,000 on Steam. 3, New Vegas, 4, and 76 were also among the top ten best-selling games in Europe last week.
