Bethesda and Obsidian officially confirm Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters are in the works, Fallout 5 in pre-production

Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in active development, that Fallout 5 has entered pre-production, and that Obsidian Entertainment is working on a new Fallout project in collaboration with BGS.

The details:

• Bethesda has confirmed remasters for both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in the works, though no release dates were given. The studio added that both The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 are now being developed on Creation Engine 3, a shared technology platform built since Starfield's launch.
• Fallout 5 is currently in pre-production. Elder Scrolls 6 remains the studio's primary development focus, with the majority of the team working on it. Bethesda said it is "where we planned to be, loving how it looks, and playing it every day."
• Obsidian Entertainment's involvement in a new Fallout game is now officially confirmed. Bethesda described it as teaming up "once again with our longtime friends at Obsidian," saying "we'll have more to share in the future." This follows earlier reporting that Obsidian was taking on a Fallout project following the Xbox restructuring.
• Fallout 76 is getting a major expansion next year titled Raven Rock, described as a prequel story to Fallout 3. ZeniMax Online Studios will also work more closely with Bethesda Game Studios on the Elder Scrolls franchise while continuing to support ESO.
• Starfield is entering Year 3, with new Starborn content planned for next year. Fallout 4 has now passed 35 million copies sold. Fallout Shelter has 250 million lifetime players.
• Bethesda confirmed it will not hold a traditional Fallout Day broadcast this year, but is planning a live celebration in Washington D.C. for Fallout's 30th anniversary in 2027.
