Bethesda now working on 'multiple Fallout games' according to report

As development on The Elder Scrolls VI ramps up, Bethesda is also reportedly shifting focus to the Fallout franchise, with multiple projects now said to be in various stages of development. This comes amid industry shakeups and growing fan demand for new entries in the iconic post-apocalyptic series.

The details:

  • According to VGC journalist Jordan Middler, speaking on an episode of the Friends Per Second podcast. Bethesda has “multiple Fallout projects in development,” though none are close to release. He stated, “Fallout is the big one,” suggesting Xbox is prioritising the franchise moving forward.

  • One confirmed project is Fallout 3 Remastered, reportedly being co-developed by Bethesda and Virtuos, the same studio behind The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.

  • Middler teased, “New Vegas 2, coming soon,” though jokingly. With Microsoft now owning both Bethesda and Obsidian, the long-hoped-for collaboration remains possible but would require mutual interest from both studios.
