Studio Wildcard has announced that the remastered version of Ark Survival Evolved's "The Center" map will be delayed indefinitely, just days before its scheduled release.

The details:

  • The developer announced the delay in a recent community update, stating that it did not believe the expansion was of adequate quality just two days before its February 28 release. "We've made the decision to postpone the Center as it wasn't on track to launch with the level of quality we require," Studio Wildcard wrote. "Our dedicated partners – who have been working on the Center while we focus on Scorched Earth – need more time to make sure it meets our expectations, and yours. We're sorry for this change in plans, but we know it will be well worth it when the Center launches."

  • Another remastered expansion for the game, Scorched Earth, appears to be on track for an April release, alongside the paid Frontier Adventure Pack DLC. Scorched Earth, like all map expansions previously featured in Survival Evolved, will be available for free to all players.

  • Survival Ascended is a controversial remake of Survival Evolved in Unreal Engine 5, intended to serve as a bridge to the delayed release of Ark 2. The game's release was repeatedly delayed on short notice, and despite this, it was panned upon release due to a number of bugs, server issues, and poor performance.
