FIFA has officially announced a partnership with Netflix for a brand new football game that will arrive alongside the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

The details:

  • As announced on Wednesday, the new FIFA game will be available for streaming on TVs through the Netflix app, with mobile phones serving as controllers, and will include both local and online modes. The game will be available for free to all Netflix members and is being developed by Delphi Interactive, a studio that is said to be working alongside IO Interactive on its upcoming James Bond game, 007 First Light.
  • According to the announcement, the new game will be released in summer 2026, perfectly timed with the World Cup taking place in North America. This comes a few years after FIFA ended its long-standing partnership with EA, leading to the publisher’s hit franchise being renamed EA FC and the regulatory body stating that it would search for a new licensing partner for future video games.
  • FIFA president Gianni Infantino commented on the collaboration, stating, "This major collaboration is a key milestone in FIFA's commitment to innovation in the football gaming space, which aspires to reach billions of football fans of all ages everywhere in the world and will be redefining the pure notion of simulation games. Our reimagined game truly marks the beginning of a new era of digital football."
