Sucker Punch co-founder Brian Fleming steps down as Studio Head
Sony

Brian Fleming, the longtime co-founder and studio head of PlayStation's Sucker Punch Productions, has announced his departure from his leadership role at the studio.

The details:

  • As announced by Sony on X, starting January 1, 2026, Jason Connell and Adrian Bentley will assume the roles of co-studio heads. Connell previously served as co-creative director on the Ghost franchise, while Bentley held the position of technical director and oversaw the studio's engineering and production efforts. Fleming has yet to reveal why he has chosen to step down from the role.
  • Sucker Punch, founded in 1997, has been a PlayStation first-party studio since 2000 and is recognized for developing several major first-party franchises such as Sly Cooper, InFamous, and Ghost of Tsushima. The developer’s latest release, Ghost of Yotei, was met with critical acclaim much like its predecessor and was a commercial success for Sony.
  • In a recent interview with VGC earlier this year, Fleming discussed Sucker Punch's upcoming 30th anniversary and emphasized the studio's decision to prioritize single-project development over creating several things at once. He explained that due to this, it means that every resource and decision can make a huge difference to its games, which typically take around five years to create.
