Nintendo announces surprise Switch 1 Direct presentation for March 27

Nintendo has announced an unexpected Direct presentation for tomorrow ahead of the Switch 2βs full reveal next week, focused on titles for the original Switch.
The details:
Nintendo has confirmed that a new Direct will take place on March 27 at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET/2 p.m. GMT. The 30-minute presentation will not include any Switch 2 announcements, instead focusing on upcoming games for the original Switch.
The dedicated Switch 2 presentation, scheduled for April 2, will still go ahead as planned, with new details and a full demonstration of the upcoming console. It is also likely that we will learn more about its launch lineup, which appears to include a new Mario Kart, as well as the system's exact release date.
Nintendo previously stated that it would continue to support the original Switch as long as consumers remained interested. This includes releasing new titles for the aging console, as the Switch 2 is backward compatible with both digital and physical Switch 1 games. This suggests that some early games may be cross-generation releases, similar to how The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was available on both the Wii U and Switch.
