Netflix's Horizon prequel series is reportedly "no longer moving forward"
It has been reported that Netflix’s adaptation of PlayStation’s Horizon series is no longer going ahead due to allegations of toxic behavior leveled against showrunner Steve Blackman.
The details:
Rolling Stone reported last week that Blackman, best known for The Umbrella Academy, engaged in "toxic, bullying, manipulative, and retaliatory behavior," with more than ten employees accusing the showrunner.
Blackman has since denied the allegations, but it appears that Netflix has already begun to cut ties. According to Rolling Stone's Cheyenne Roundtree, Blackman's projects, which include Orbital and the Horizon Zero Dawn prequel series, are no longer in the works at Netflix.
It is unclear how far the series was in development or if another showrunner will take over the series, but Sony may collaborate with another production company in the future to create the show. Given the success of The Last of Us' TV adaptation and the potential of Horizon's world and lore, the project is unlikely to be canceled entirely.
