Netflix is developing a live-action Persona series

Variety has reported that Netflix is developing a live-action series based on Atlus' Persona franchise, with a notable creative team already in place for the project.

The details:

• Christopher Monfette, whose credits include 12 Monkeys, Star Trek: Picard and 9-1-1, is attached to write the series and serve as showrunner and executive producer.
• Shawn Levy and his 21 Laps production company (Stranger Things, Deadpool & Wolverine) are on board as executive producers alongside Dan Levine and Robert Atwood. Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson of Story Kitchen are also producing. Toru Nakahara of Sega will executive produce on behalf of the game's publisher.
• No details have been confirmed regarding which entry in the franchise the series will adapt, its cast, or a release date or window. The Persona series typically follows Japanese high school students navigating everyday life while confronting supernatural threats.
