As Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 approaches two million sales in less than two weeks of release, Embracer Group says the game acts as a "reminder" that creating great games should be its primary goal after a difficult few years.

The details:

  • During its latest financial report, the company praised Warhorse Studios' RPG for selling more than a million copies within 24 hours of release. The game is now on track to sell two million units, and it has reached a peak concurrent player count of 250,000 on Steam. "It is our strong belief that the game will continue to generate substantial revenues over the coming years, highlighting the exceptional quality, immersion and appeal of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2," Embracer said.

  • The game's success also appears to have served as a wake-up call for Embracer, which has had a rough few years marked by layoffs, closures, and a number of commercial failures, most notably its poorly received Saints Row reboot. “The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a reminder of our core – to bring great products to the market,” CEO Lars Wingefors said. “High-quality teams need to have the resources and the time to execute their visions. When you have the right teams, this trust benefits everyone, including gamers, employees, and shareholders. I am convinced that we will remain among the industry leaders in our core business verticals in the future.”

  • Meanwhile, Warhorse intends to continue supporting Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, with a year-long roadmap featuring both free and paid content. This includes fully paid expansions that will be available this summer, fall, and winter, as well as a number of highly requested quality-of-life and customization features.
