Publisher Bandai Namco has finally confirmed that its multiplayer spin-off Elden Ring: Nightreign will be available in late May.

The details:

  • Ahead of its network test, which is set to take place from February 14 to February 16, the publisher announced that Nightreign will be released on May 30, 2025, for PC, Xbox One/Series X/S, PS4, and PS5.

  • Pre-orders are now open, with the Deluxe, Seekers, and Collector's Editions including a DLC code and various out-of-game extras. It's also worth noting that physical copies of the base game are only available for current-generation consoles, whereas more expensive versions are physical across all platforms.

  • Nightreign, which was announced at The Game Awards, is a multiplayer roguelike co-op title set in the world of Elden Ring with a focus on boss battles. Players must survive for three days on a randomly generated map before facing two bosses and, finally, a dangerous "Nightlord." The game is fully playable solo or in teams of three, with duos being matched with a random third player. FromSoftware has confirmed that some of its enemies and bosses, including The Nameless King, have been carried over from previous Souls games.

  • Its upcoming network test will include three-hour play sessions open to those who have registered. Players will be able to pick from four of its eight unique playable characters, dubbed "Nightfarers," and enjoy significantly faster gameplay than the original Elden Ring.
