EA and Battlefield Studios have confirmed Battlefield 6 has become the biggest launch in franchise history, selling over 7 million copies in its first three days.

The details:

  • According to EA, Battlefield 6 sold over 7 million copies during its three-day launch weekend, setting a new franchise sales record. The publisher also revealed that over 172 million online matches were played across all platforms during the same time period, with over 15 million hours of gameplay viewed on streaming services like Twitch and YouTube.
  • On Steam (via SteamDB), Battlefield 6 had EA's highest-ever concurrent player count, reaching a peak of 747,440 players, breaking Apex Legends' previous record of 624,473 in February 2023. At launch, the game was the second most-played title on Steam, trailing only Counter-Strike 2, and it has since become the 14th most-played game in the platform's history.
  • In a new statement, Battlefield general manager Byron Beede credited the success to fan feedback, stating, "Battlefield 6 was built with our fans. From the initial concept through to the implementation of Battlefield Labs and into the record-shattering Open Beta, we have been obsessed with player feedback." Executive vice president Vince Zampella also expressed “sincere gratitude to our global Battlefield Studios and passionate community that has helped get us to this point.”
