EA officially reveals Battlefield 6, multiplayer reveal set for next week
Electronic Arts

After several leaks and teasers, EA has officially unveiled Battlefield 6 with a new cinematic trailer and has confirmed a multiplayer gameplay reveal is coming next week.

The details:

  • The first trailer for the game unveils its modern-day setting and introduces its story, which follows Pax Armata, “a Private Military Corporation bankrolled by former NATO states whose agenda threatens to throw the world into global conflict.” While not actual gameplay, we can see that its campaign and likely its multiplayer maps will feature New York as well as several locations in Eastern Europe and Asia.

  • EA has scheduled a full reveal of BF6’s multiplayer for July 31, where fans will get their first official look at its destruction systems, gunplay, maps, and return to a more classic formula compared to that of BF2042. Like with past releases, the publisher also plans to host events featuring popular content creators playing the game live prior to launch.

  • BF6 has been in playtesting since March with EA’s new “Battlefield Labs” program, allowing selected members of the community to play several early versions of its multiplayer and provide feedback on its systems. Despite being forced to sign NDAs, gameplay has unsurprisingly surfaced online regardless, providing a glimpse into an unfinished version of the title.
