Ubisoft’s Julian Gerighty, executive producer for The Division franchise, has provided an update on the highly anticipated third installment in the looter-shooter series, stating that the game will have “as big an impact” as The Division 1.

The details:

  • During the New Game+ Showcase, Gerighty confirmed that The Division 3 is still in development and that developer Massive Entertainment hopes that the title will be a major success like the franchise’s debut release, though no release date was revealed.  "The Division 3 is in production, right? This is not a secret. It's been announced,” the producer said. “It's shaping up to be a monster. I can't really say anything more than that. But this is, within these walls in Massive, we are working extremely hard on something that I think will be as big an impact as Division 1 was."
  • The project was officially announced in 2023 through a press release that also confirmed Gerighty's appointment as executive producer for the Division franchise. Since then, Ubisoft has remained relatively silent about the game's development, with post-launch support for The Division 2 and the development of spin-off titles remaining a public focus.
  • Gerighty also reassured fans that The Division 3 will maintain the core pillars of the franchise, including a focus on online co-op gameplay, an in-game world based on real-world locations, and a heavy lean into RPG elements allowing for various gameplay styles.
