The Switch 2 hasn't even been on the market for a full month yet, and Nintendo has already confirmed that it has sold faster than the original Switch in its first month.
The details:
- According to data posted on Nintendo's official website, sales of the Switch 2 have already surpassed 5 million units worldwide.
- The US leads the way with Switch 2 purchases with 1.8 million units, with Japan just behind, having sold 1.47 million units. Europe is responsible for 1.18 million, while the rest of the world makes up the remaining 0.55 million units sold.
- For context, the original Switch sold 2.47 million units globally in its first month on sale. In the US, the Switch 2 became the fastest-selling console in history as 1.1 million units were sold in the first week of its launch.
