Nintendo has confirmed that it is hosting its next Direct showcase on Friday, and while not much has been revealed, the company has shared that it will be the longest livestream to date.

The details:

  • Nintendo's YouTube and social media channels will broadcast the showcase live on September 12 at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. BST. According to the Japanese gaming giant, it will include "roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games," making it the longest Direct to date, aside from the Switch 2's announcement.
  • Nintendo has yet to reveal what will be featured in the show, but it is likely that several new first- and third-party games will be revealed, as well as more information on titles that have already been shown. It has also been noted that the event is close to Mario's 40th anniversary, which suggests that we may learn about future franchise plans.
  • Fans have spotted that Metroid Prime 4, which is set to be released by the end of 2025, has recently been rated again in Brazil, suggesting that a release date could be confirmed in the Direct. Other potential inclusions are Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, Splatoon Raiders, and a number of third-party releases from Xbox, Ubisoft, Capcom, and more.
