• The trailer was originally posted to Nintendo of America's YouTube channel, indicating that the in-game footage was from the Switch port of the fighting game, with visuals inferior to the Xbox and PlayStation versions. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until fans noticed a placeholder Steam achievement pop-up at the 1:53 mark in the video, confirming that it was indeed captured on a PC with the graphics options lowered to make it look similar to the actual Switch port.
• Nintendo has since made the video private, but it has prompted fans to wonder whether the trailer can be considered false advertising as the gameplay shown in the trailer is not that of the actual version that players are purchasing. Some have speculated that it was simply a mix-up that resulted in the incorrect footage being used, which raises the question of why NetherRealm or Nintendo would purposefully lower the game's graphical settings if they did not intend to mislead players.
