Monster Hunter Wilds is now Capcom's fastest-selling game of all time

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds is the publisher's fastest-selling game in 45 years, following a massively successful launch last week.
The details:
The publisher has confirmed that the title sold over eight million copies across PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in its first three days. Capcom states that it believes the game's success was helped by its participation in various popular events such as The Game Awards, a well received open beta, and overall appeal to a global audience.
Following its release on Friday, Wilds quickly surpassed one million concurrent players on Steam, peaking at 1,384,608 on Saturday. It now has the fifth highest player count on Steam, surpassing Elden Ring and Cyberpunk 2077, and contributed to Steam hitting a new all-time high user count of over 40 million players.
With the game having sold over eight million units during its launch weekend, it has already surpassed a quarter of the lifetime sales of its predecessor, Monster Hunter World, which sold 28.1 million copies and is Capcom's best-selling title to date. Given Wilds' critical acclaim and strong post-launch content plans, it's entirely possible that it will surpass the threshold to become Capcom's best-selling game within the next few years.
