Second Dinner, the developer behind Marvel Snap, has confirmed that the game will continue to operate normally despite the upcoming restructuring of publisher Nuverse.

The details:

  • The developer stated on the game's official X account that it will continue to "operate and flourish" despite the recent news, thanking fans for their concern. “Dear SNAPPERS, Some of our players have expressed their concerns regarding reported structural changes at Nuverse,” the message reads “We wish to thank you for your concern and assure you that regardless of any changes at Nuverse, SNAP will continue to operate and flourish in the future!”

  • ByteDance confirmed yesterday that, as part of the TikTok creator's plans to exit the gaming industry, it would be winding down operations of Nuverse, Marvel Snap's publisher, resulting in job losses of up to 700 employees across the company.

  • The future of Marvel Snap was called into question after it was claimed that the game's financial performance had contributed to ByteDance's decision to walk away from the industry, despite reporting over $50 million in revenue in less than six months and winning a number of awards. It's unclear whether the title will now be sold to another publisher, continue as a ByteDance property, or if Second Dinner will continue to work without a publisher entirely.
