It has been confirmed that Atomic Arcade, a Hasbro-owned game studio behind the upcoming G.I. Joe Snake Eyes game, has been shuttered, but the project is still alive.

The details:

  • As spotted by Game Developer, several former Atomic Arcade employees took to LinkedIn to share news of the studio’s closure, with some staff moving to parent company Wizards of the Coast. "Unfortunately Hasbro has made the call to close Atomic Arcade,” one post reads. “I was only with the studio for about a year, but from the start I felt the studio had tons of talent and potential. I'll miss working with the team we had and wish everyone the best.”
  • Hasbro has now confirmed that the developer has indeed shut its doors. However, it made it clear that the Snake Eyes game is still in the works, though not much else is known about the future of the project. "The Snake Eyes game is not cancelled. The team is currently taking time to evaluate the path forward for the game," a Hasbro representative said in a statement. "While decisions haven't been finalized, we're committed to providing updates as soon as we're able."
  • Atomic Arcade was originally founded in late 2021 with a game based on G.I. Joe character Snake Eyes intended to be its debut release. Not much was revealed about the title other than that it was a “high-quality” game and that Batman: Arkham City, Injustice, and Spider-Man 2 executive producer Ames Kirshen was involved as the studio’s general manager and creative director.
