Friendly Fire opens three locations as it expands global gaming café network

Friendly Fire has opened three new gaming café and esports hub locations in Croatia, Austria and Cyprus, adding to a global expansion backed by a recent €4m Series A round.

• The new venues are in Rijeka, Croatia; Vienna, Austria; and Limassol, Cyprus. Rijeka is the brand’s first site in Croatia’s northern Adriatic region, while Limassol is its first in Cyprus.
• Friendly Fire now operates 22 company- and franchise-owned locations across six countries, with 31 franchise agreements signed and a pipeline of nearly 200 further locations across 11 countries.
• The Series A funding from Zagreb-based AYMO Ventures is earmarked for international expansion, the company’s proprietary technology platform and franchisee support systems.
• Friendly Fire says it has more than 220,000 gamers on its platform and has hosted over 1,000 amateur esports tournaments, pointing to continued demand for community-led gaming spaces.
