Fable will still release this year despite delay rumors, Playground Games confirms

Playground Games has reassured fans that the Fable reboot is still scheduled for release later this year, following reports that the RPG had been internally delayed.

The details:

• Over the weekend, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb claimed he had heard Fable had been “pushed [back] internally" due to concerns over its launch potentially being impacted by the upcoming release of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19.
• However, it appears that there are no plans to move its launch as of yet, with the official Fable X account responding to a fan with a post that reaffirms the autumn release window.

• Positioned as a complete reboot of the RPG series, Fable is one of the Xbox’s biggest releases in recent years. The title is being built in Playground’s ForzaTech engine, also used for the Forza Horizon franchise, which is also set to receive a new entry later this year.
