EA has announced a new Black Panther game

EA and Marvel have announced that they have partnered up to create a single-player action-adventure Black Panther title under a brand new studio.

The details:

• Cliffhanger Games, EA's new Seattle-based studio, has begun work on its first title, a third-person, single-player action-adventure game set in the world of Wakanda. The player will take on the role of the king himself in a "rich SuperHero sandbox," with the team's goal of creating an "expansive and reactive" Wakanda built with an emphasis on exploration. According to the studio, the game is still "early in development with a long road ahead.”
• Outside of the announcement blog post, not much else is known about the project; however, we do know that it will be a narrative-driven title, similar to the upcoming Iron Man game developed by Motive's sister studio. Since both projects are seemingly open-world titles, they may have a lot in common, especially in terms of engine and design, so we'll likely see the game built using Epic's Unreal Engine 5.
• Cliffhanger will be led by Kevin Stephens, formerly of Monolith Productions, and will include "accomplished talent with leaders" who have worked on notable AAA games such as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Halo Infinite, God of War, Call of Duty, and others. The studio also plans to start hiring soon on its dedicated careers page, though it is likely that it will start looking for more qualified staff first as it enters full development.

• Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed Mirage will include an interactive "History of Baghdad" mode that will enable players to learn about the game's setting's real-life history. As players progress through the game's main storyline, they will unlock new areas within the mode, allowing them to explore the locations without fear of enemies or objectives.
• The Division 2 development team has announced that those who exploited an XP glitch in the game's Descent mode would face temporary bans, which would then become permanent if the exploits continued. For those caught using the bug, all illegitimately gained progress will be reversed.
