Warner Bros. Games Montréal reportedly hit with layoffs
Warner Bros.

Employees at Warner Bros. Games Montréal have announced that they were laid off as of last week, with no official announcement regarding the cuts.

The details:

  • As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, former employees at WB Games Montréal took to LinkedIn on Friday to announce that they had been made redundant. The extent of the layoffs is currently unknown, but the cuts have affected the studio’s narrative, design, and production.
  • The developer was previously impacted by job cuts in late 2024, which affected almost 100 employees, including QA contractors. The studio is best known for creating Batman: Arkham Origins and Gotham Knights, but it was also working on a Wonder Woman title that was scrapped alongside the closure of development partner and sister studio Monolith Productions in February 2025.
  • The cost-cutting measures are unsurprising, as Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos warned that should Warner Bros. Discovery be acquired by Paramount Skydance, the company would likely undergo a major internal restructuring to save billions of dollars. The company’s gaming division, which has struggled in recent years, was expected to be among the impacted areas.
