Until Dawn is coming to PS5 and PC in October
Sony has announced that the “rebuilt and enhanced” version of Supermassive’s horror hit Until Dawn will arrive on PS5 and PC on October 4.
The details:
According to a new PlayStation blog post, UK-based studio Ballistic Moon is behind the port. The game has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 with enhancements to all of its assets and has been "completely relit" with the addition of raytracing for a "more atmospheric and 'modern horror' experience."
The game will also include a variety of new accessibility settings, features, and changes to specific story elements. This includes Stay Calm, an alternative for the original version's Don't Move mechanic, a more modern third-person camera option, collectibles, and a completely reworked prologue.
Pre-orders for the port will reopen on August 21, but as with previous PlayStation releases, the game will require a PlayStation Network account to play on PC via Steam.
Until Dawn is currently being adapted into a film, which will be directed by Lights Out director David F. Sandberg. Filming began earlier this month, but despite the game's cast including Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere, only Peter Stormare has returned to his role for the movie.
