Ubsioft angers fans by amending End User Licence Agreement (EULA)

Embattled video game developer Ubisoft has once again attracted negative attention from fans after amending their EULA to say that they can withdraw support for a game at any time and that consumers must destroy copies of terminated games.

The details:

• The Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy developer have amended their EULA to avoid any legal complications for pulling support for their existing titles. The EULA now states that the company reserves the right to stop supporting a game at any time for any reason.
• It also goes on to say, "You and UBISOFT (or its licensors) may terminate this EULA, at any time, for any reason. This EULA will terminate automatically if You fail to comply with any of the terms and conditions of this EULA. Upon termination for any reason, You must immediately uninstall the Product and destroy all copies of the Product in Your possession."
• Additionally, the onus is now on the user to check for updates in the EULA rather than Ubisoft making consumers aware of changes.
