Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake is "deep" in development, Ubisoft confirms

After development was rebooted in 2023, Ubisoft has now provided an update confirming that the game is currently “deep” in development as it nears its planned release next year.
The details:
In late 2024, Ubisoft announced that its remake of the 2003 cult classic reboot of the Prince of Persia series, Sands of Time, was in development at its Montreal and Toronto studios and targeting a 2026 release. Not much else was revealed besides a short teaser, with the publisher stating that the project had made "excellent progress.”
In a short update posted to the franchise’s X account, Ubisoft reaffirmed to fans that the game was still in the works and thanked the community for its continued support. “Yep, we’re still deep in the game — exploring, building, and ensuring the sands move with purpose,” the company wrote. “This game is being crafted by a team that truly cares, and they're pouring their hearts (and a lot of coffee) into every step. Thank you for sticking with us.”
The remake was originally announced in 2020 and was in development at Ubisoft’s India-based studios in Mumbai and Pune. However, after two and a half years, community backlash to its first trailer was negative, prompting the publisher to delay the project several times and later restart it under its Canadian studios.
