Tango Gameworks’ next title could include multiplayer elements

According to a recent job listing, Hi-Fi Rush developer Tango Gameworks may be introducing some form of multiplayer into its next game.

The details:

• A recent job listing for the position of "Environment Artist" was spotted at the Japanese developer, and it states that it’s looking for someone with experience in multiplayer game development to fill the role. Although no specifics are provided, it’s assumed that the project in question is unlikely to be a fully-fledged multiplayer title, with some form of co-op or smaller multiplayer component being present.
• The studio is known for exploring different genres, with its first two games being the survival horror titles The Evil Within 1 and 2, which made sense given that its founder and legendary producer Shinji Mikami had previously worked on the Resident Evil franchise, serving as a director on the original. Following the success of The Evil Within, the studio experimented with action-adventure games such as Ghostwire: Tokyo and, most recently, the rhythm action game Hi-Fi Rush. All four releases were well received and varied not only in terms of gameplay but also in terms of visuals, so this new project is likely to be something no one expected from the developer.
• Tango Gameworks is now also under the Microsoft umbrella as a result of ZeniMax Media's acquisition, which could open up some opportunities for the studio to collaborate with other Microsoft studios with more experience in multiplayer releases such as Halo.
• In February, Bethesda announced that Mikami would be leaving Tango Gameworks in the coming months. Mikami may have still worked on this project as the executive producer up until his departure, although it's likely that his input was considerably less than previous games at the studio, so it will be interesting to see the outcome following his absence.

• Motive Studios' upcoming Iron Man game, according to a recent job posting, may feature an open-world setting similar to Insomniac's Spider-Man games. Olivier Proulx, who previously worked on Marvel games as a producer for Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, is responsible for the game's development.
• Guerrilla may have plans to develop the Decima Engine for use in projects outside of the studio, with the studio's former co-director stepping down to become the engine's technical director. Other PlayStation studios, as well as third-party developers such as Kojima Productions, may decide to use the engine for future titles.
