Square Enix announces Final Fantasy Tactics remaster, The Ivalice Chronicles

After years of speculation, Square Enix has finally revealed the long-awaited remaster of the classic PS1 title Final Fantasy Tactics, which includes new voice acting and more.
The details:
Revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles will arrive on September 30, 2025 for PS4 and PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
The game will be released with two versions included: the original with translations from the 2007 War of the Lions PSP re-release, and an enhanced version with improved visuals, voice acting, and an new difficulty options. Ben Starr, the voice actor for FF16's protagonist Clive, will portray Dycedarg, with Cloud and Aerith actors Cody Christian and Briana White making cameo appearances.
The enhanced version of the title will also include a battle speed option, as well as a tactical view camera that improves visibility on the battlefield. It also includes a new user-friendly interface that makes it easier to select and move units, as well as the ability to view unit turn order at all times.
Rumors of a remake surfaced in 2021, when the game was mentioned in the Nvidia GeForce leak, which included several major titles that have since been revealed. This was followed by a Square Enix producer teasing its existence, and its creator, Yasumi Matsuno, denying it was in development, despite reports claiming otherwise.
