Sony has announced Until Dawn 2, coming to PS5 in 2027 and developed by first-party studio Firesprite rather than original creator Supermassive Games.
The details:
Revealed during the latest PlayStation State of Play, the trailer shows a new cast of influencer ghost hunters filming the pilot episode of their TV show on a remote tropical island where the paranormal activity they usually fake turns out to be real.
Firesprite says the series’ “everyone can live, everyone can die” structure is back, with choices once again determining who survives the night and how relationships between characters evolve. The teaser also confirms fan favorite Dr. Hill is returning, once again played by Peter Stormare, though further plot details have not been revealed.
Until Dawn 2 is currently only announced for PS5 and follows the 2024 Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original game for PS5 and PC, which refreshed the cult classic with upgraded visuals, a new third-person camera, and reworked scenes. It’s possible that the game will not be coming to PC, with Sony reportedly scrapping its multi-platform release plans for all single-player titles going forward.
