PlayStation announces God of War Trilogy remake and shadow drops new 2D title

Sony’s Santa Monica Studio is working on a remake of the original three God of War games, with a new 2D action title, God of War: Sons of Sparta, out now on PS5.

The details:

• As announced during PlayStation’s State of Play, God of War Trilogy Remake is now in early development at Santa Monica Studio. Not much else beyond a logo has been revealed as of yet, but the announcement was delivered by original Kratos voice actor Terrence "T.C." Carson.
• PlayStation also revealed God of War: Sons of Sparta, a new 2D action game developed by Mega Cat Studios. The title follows the story of Kratos prior to becoming a god as he progresses through “brutal training at the Spartan Agoge alongside his brother Deimos." T.C. Carson also stars in the title as the voice of the adult version of Kratos, who serves as its narrator.
• Sons of Sparta is available now on the PlayStation Store for $29.99, or $39.99 for its Deluxe Edition containing additional in-game items, a digital artbook and soundtrack, and a PlayStation Network avatar featuring the young Kratos.
