The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) has announced its nominees for the upcoming 26th Annual Design Innovate Communicate Entertain (D.I.C.E) Awards, and God of War Ragnarök is taking the spotlight with 12 nominations.
The details:
- A total of 61 games released in 2022 have been nominated across 23 categories. The award winners are chosen by votes cast by over 33,000 AIAS members, who will be given the option to vote in specific categories based on their expertise. This means none of the winning titles will be influenced by reviewers or the thoughts of casual gamers, which is a slight departure from other major award shows.
- God of War: Ragnarök has been nominated 12 times, including for game of the year, outstanding achievements in multiple aspects of game design and direction, and two nominations in the outstanding achievement in character category. Horizon Forbidden West comes in second with eight nominations, followed by Elden Ring with seven.
- Indie hit Vampire Survivors has received four nominations, including one for outstanding achievement for an independent game. You can find a nice, complete list of D.I.C.E 2023 nominations on Gagadget.
